Teenager and unfit relatives – but we whizzed around on the most amazing electric bikes.
We had our 13 year old nephew coming to visit for a week and trying to find things to do with a teenager isnt easy if it doesnt involve their phones! 🙂 Rang James at the Bike Garage a couple of days before we came in for the hire and he answered all my questions with ease. As my hubby & i are a slightly bit unfit and hadn’t ridden a bike for over 10 years, i figured if we could hire the electric bikes they would assist us for all the hills around the area. Came in today for all 3 bikes and nothing was too much trouble. James talked us through how to use them, what to expect and didnt laugh at any of our stupid questions. Off we then rode. We had an absolute fabulous day, beyond our expectations and we even managed to do some geocaching at the same time! We are now soo hooked we genuinely would love to do this on a much more regular basis with a view to buying some next year. Thoroughly loved today, riding around Bamford, Winnets Pass, Castleton etc is soo easy with these bikes. We paid £50 each and a deposit of £150 for a full days hire. To be fair, i think the prices could be increased, the value of what you get with these bikes are really something. Fantastic day and fabulous service, we will be back.

A Trip Advisor review

Very good quality bikes and great customer service!
My friend and I rented two mountain bikes for a day trip in the Peak District. Got very good, lightweight bikes with massive tires with some extras (helmets, puncture set, pump and a map with the best cycling routes). We have decided to go up the reservoirs and it was amazing! The bikes were perfect for the conditions. Bike Garage was super easy to find (few minutes walk from Bamford train station – 55 mins on the direct train from Manchester!). I am super glad we decided to visit Peak District as it’s beautiful and quiet, a perfect place to spend a day close to nature. And if you want to spend it in an active way, definitely rent a bike and do what we did 🙂

Great service and fantastic bikes. James was there from start to finish to ensure that me and my mates had a great weekend mountain biking in the amazing Peak District. Thoroughly recommended!

Great service, great location, and an excellent online booking system make this an ideal choice for mountain bike rentals in the Peak District. They provide real hardtail mountain bikes that are suitable for more adventurous riders, unlike some of the other rental options in the area which cater more to the casual road/gravel path rider. The bike also included a puncture repair kit, pump, bottle holder, and helmet which made this very good value. James is very knowledgeable of the trails and route options in the area and was more than happy to suggest a detailed route based on my level of experience, even providing a map. I would highly recommend the Bike Garage to anyone looking for a good mountain bike experience in the Peak District.
